Lowell General's billing processes are borderline fraudulent, specifically that they use non-network providers for all anesthesiology services and fail to disclose that to the patient! So, they take your insurance and never say a word about the fact that your insurance will NOT cover the balance due for anesthesiology services. This is a really bad practice! The right thing to do would be to let the patient know that they will be getting a $300.00 bill AFTER insurance pays them for customary and reasonable charges. And, after calling several different people I'm told "oh ya this happens all the time"! But, nobody fixes the process. Shame on you Lowell General.

The staff here is not that great. They barely do their jobs if at all. You go in here and all you hear is them laughing and joking and taking their time to get around to talking to patients. Then when they finally do talk to them, they are rude. Then they disappear and you never see them for hours again. When you talk to your family in a private room. If they don't want to hear you they slam the glass doors really loud just so you know. They neglected my mother so much here. She can't walk and when she needs to use the bathroom they tell her to walk. She's on oxygen 24/7. How is she supposed to walk anywhere? If you're injured or something you're better off going to Mexico and seeing a doctor there. You'll be in and out much faster.

Great environment, clean and peaceful. Wait times can vary but planning for off hours make it quicker. Website could use more information, it was intimidating coming in for blood work the first time

If you have endoscopy at the main campus, you might want to prepare for the delay. I went there twice for my family member appointment in the morning, the appointment was at 9am you have to be there at 7:30 I have to wait for the DR until almost noon time on both appointment

I am new to the area and had read all these reviews—only to end up having to go to the ER and stay in the hospital a short time later. I was concerned it was going to be a bad experience, but it was really good. Yes, the ER wait was long, but they communicated about it well, and were nice. Once in my room, the nurses and aides were great and took very good care of me and the other patients. I also liked the doctors. Plus, there was always someone making sure things were clean. Not everyone was warm and fuzzy, but overall they were professional.
