The best Mexican food outside of Mexico! The Northeast doesn't have a lot of options like this but El Porto is a special sort of cantina. It's loud and animated but not in an obnoxious way (and believe me I would mind if it was). It has life and energy and they bring in a mariachi band for ambiance. They're burritos are excellent, but try some of their specials- You won't be disappointed. They even carry my favorite tequila which I have never seen outside of Mexico. Occasionally the service is less attentive and once you've received your food it's hard to get refills, etc but I'm not even mad about it. They're nice and the food and drinks are great and the environment is a great one to be in. Just tell them if you're in a rush and they'll take care of you.
The only "complaints" I have are just that it tends to be on the busy. The restaurant is on the smaller side so it's a bit tight and doesn't hold a ton of people. Therefore, there tends to be a wait. Also, there is a mariachi band which I'm sure is enjoyable for many. It makes it impossible for me to speak or enjoy the meal since it's SO loud, so I can't say I enjoy it. if you're like me, just make sure you're aware of when the band will be there, but don't let that deter you from going. You will definitely be missing out if you skip this place.

Delicious food and great service. The wait-staff is always welcoming, pleasant, and accommodating. This is the place to which I compare all other Mexican restaurants because their food is just that good.
We are on our way to the airport, we were so tempted to get something fast like a sub, instead we went for this place. What a great find. The grilled chicken was to die for. The environment walking in is that of a Cantina where all the locals gather. What we're talking about the 20 to 40 year old locals. We had to get takeout so we went straight to the bar and the bartender / manager took care of us. We had to wait a little extra but the wait was worth it. Go here if your taste buds want something other than a northern meal.
